What's wrong with being a "core gamer"? I've been one all my life!

Awesome, that's really good to know. Friday night sorted then! #needtogetoutmore

Well I suppose there are those class action lawsuits to consider, but being forthright and honest (if not just... friendly?) is something EA ought to be considering right now. It'd be a nice gesture and I reckon it'd create some good feeling.

Fingers crossed. BF4 is such a great game, it's just annoying that the infrastructure wasn't ready for prime time.

Gosh, I hope not! I daresay plenty of Premium subscribers are waiting on BF to make good on its promises too (though I never buy season passes until all the content is out).

HOWEVER, I totally agree with the sentiment and clicked the wrong button like an idiot. Sorry! :3

Hurry up and go B2P already. Keeps the free griefers out, but charges an appropriate amount.

Speaking as a Wii U day-one adopter, I agree with the sentiment but not with the hyperbole. As far as I'm concerned the Wii U is a fantastic platform for connoisseurs -- people who crave pixel-perfect quality, hand-crafted love and pedigree from their games -- but it isn't matching quality with quantity at all, while Nintendo seem unable if not unwilling to market it.

I don't care about the marketing/sales etc. Why should I? I'm a gamer, not a marketing exec. ...

Always sad when stuff like this happens - now watch everyone ask all the wrong questions. "Do games cause addiction?" "Do games cause violence?" Then watch all the knee-jerk reactions as the cycle continues.

Anything can be addictive if a particular person lacks something in their lives (respect, love, companionship, agency, anything) - from beer to excercise to gambling to fast food. Any violent media can *inspire* violence in people who suffer from an un...

vs 3DS.

KO.

You know what? Inquisition can do what it wants, but the series has totally lost me. Origins and Awakening built an amazing world that I loved being in, but DA2 has extinguished any interest I have in the setting, characters, world and the storyline. I literally don't *care* what happens to the world and the people in it. At all.

Perhaps Inquisition can hark back to the original games enough to rekindle some of my love for DA, but it's going to be a hard old sell. Wak...

Speaking as a lost fan, yes.

Don't get me wrong - I've loved BioWare since back in the day and relished the Mass Effect trilogy (despite its original ending). But Dragon Age totally lost me. The sequel wasted all of the rich characterisation and world-building of the original, presenting one of the most boring and limpest RPGs I've played in ages, set in a boring constantly-recycled setting, with a crap protagonist instead of the hero I created in the brilliant fi...

Right? It'd be so easy, yet potentially so immersive thanks to those speakers and the physical connection between us and the camera.

Loving Angry Joe. Figure I'll steer clear until it becomes Buy To Play - that way the griefers can't get in, but it's value for money. Maybe.

I'll keep playing The Secret World until that happens.

Absolutely agreed. That's the tone of the article, too - stressing that there's a wealth of untapped potential that developers could (and should?) be experimenting with a lot more.

"3D World had an entire direct segment just for showing off some of the gamepad bonuses, like being able to blow into the mic and move all of the flora as well as lifting platforms that was required by some stages. It showed off gyroscopic control for the Toad stages as well as a few touchscreen features such as selecting stored itmes."

I agree with the sentiment... *BUT* these features were tiny, practically throwaway bonuses that *could* be totally ignored. Ninten...

Not sure about that. As a Wii U day-one adopter, I'm hardpressed to think of any particuarly interesting uses for the GamePad screen beyond the OS, off TV play and a handful of standout titles. Even DKC:TF and SM3DW didn't use it at all, never mind 3rd party games that do the bare minimum.

Lovely device, but so many devs just aren't using it. Not sure how you can argue that it's particularly relevant right now. A few games used it (ZombiU was awesome!), now th...

They'd be daft not to, that is if O'Donnell actually wants to go back to the Halo franchise. Halo 4 sorely missed him - Halo 5 *needs* a real theme tune.

Mind you, since most musicians freelance and/or are employed on a contractual game-by-game basis, perhaps this is just a sign of the times.

You just... don't... I can't...

Look. Sony have sold their shares to another company for a huge amount of money. The shares are in demand. It's just business that won't affect us gamers at all.

4314d ago 1 agree5 disagreeView comment

Fun fact: this means absolutely nothing for us gamers beyond the larger-scale corporate balancesheets. No, really, nothing.

4314d ago 5 agree3 disagreeView comment

I agree with all these comments, and that BF4 is causing a lot of players a huge amount of unacceptable aggro.

However... I'm not really seeing much lag in that video, especially towards the end! Have encountered far worse on the Naval Strike maps.

I personally can't stand the guy, but don't let him get in the way of buying some decent games and supporting a great charity.
